A lone boy, of only the age of 16 walked through the mists that surrounded the great lake. He made his way out of the thick forest, with its many crunching twigs and leaves beneath his feet. As he emerged from the forest, he seeked out the sun but found it hidden beneath the clouds and mist that formed around the school. This is where the letter had told him to go, and after over 2 years of wondering around he has made it to where he finally wanted to be.
Rhyme walked out of the woods and down to the beach. He wore a light pair of blue jeans with a large hole in his left knee. The hole showed off the pale skin of his legs and the light coating of hair that was also there. On his torso he wore a black tee-shirt with “Green Day” on the front on deep green letters, almost unreadable on the shirt. He sat down on a log as he waited for someone to get him. When he sat down his purple hair fell in front of his eyes, blocking them from the view of anyone watching.
“After all this time, I am finally here.” he said to himself with a soft sigh.

A tall man with a long, loose tan leather jacket stood behind Rhyme, the jacket was buttoned up completely so that only his feet were visable, they were large and obviously too large for him. At his waist rested a silver flute that seemed to be in a hilt like it was a small dagger or something of the sort. His light brown hair was pulled back in a ponytail and one of his slender, musician's hands rested on his chin. His dark purple eyes looked at the to-be student and he cocked his eyebrow, "Rhyme is it?" he asked, his baritone voice was clear as he asked. His voice was steady and firm like a lighthouse amidst a storm, this man was Gavin and he was going to be Rhyme's master teacher.

Rhyme turned quickly as he heard and felt the mans voice. He could tell from the voice that it was trained, it was uniform and didn’t have the gruff nature of an untrained voice. Being around music so long in his life taught him these things.
He then stood, giving his head a small flip upward trying to get the hair out of his eyes. But then, he nodded to his teacher which annoyingly put the hair back over his eyes.
“Yes, I’m Rhyme.” he said to the man.

"Well we need to get you to The Academy." Gavin stated as he looked towards the water, "Do you have your own means of getting there or do your need assistance?" he asked, 'Rhyme? Someone's parents either had an odd sense of humor or a lack of imagination...' he thought silently to himself be decided against actually saying anything about it.

Durriken stared out on the water for about a minute, trying to figure out if he knew away across. He could make himself fly, and just fly across, but that would leave his teacher on this side. He didn’t really have anything that would get them across of he used the spell version of a song. Instead he chose to use the power version. He should be able to make ribbons long enough to get them across. His mind flashed to his MP3 player in his pocket as he put in his ear buds. His mind flashed through the lists of songs until he find one with the right amount of speed and power to do what he wants to do. “I can get us across, though to set his up might take a few minutes.” he said calmly. Rhyme walked slowly down to the coast of the lake, hearing the light washing of the waves on the shore. He slowly rose his arms, revealing the baton on his right hand, he thought the command to begin the song to his MP3 player and the song began to play. Into your head, into your mind out of your soul, race through your veins You can't escape, you can't escape.
Into your life, into your dreams, Out of the dark, sunlight again. You can't explain, you can't explain.
Can You feel it, can you feel it, Rushin' through your hair, Rushin' through your head, Can you feel it, can you feel it, With the beginning of the song he hummed along, as the song got going the music would be projected with his power. A strange pale yellow aura began to surround Rhyme, starting with the baton, then going down his arm until it covered his entire body. He stood perfectly still during this part, his eyes staring ahead on concentration. Don't let nobody tell you, your life is over, Be every color that you are, Into the rush now, You don't have to know how, Know it all before you try. With a strong flick of his wrist he began to conduct the music, even though it was only on his player. As his arms and baton moved quickly with the music the music began to be projected, and even the teacher could hear it. From the baton a pale yellow ribbon began to emerge and float around his head. The ribbon on close inspection looked like the written music you would see within a music book. Pulling you in, spinning you 'round, Lifting your feet right off the ground, You can't believe it's happening now.
Can You feel it, can you feel it, Rushin' through your hair, Rushin' through your head, Can you feel it, can you feel it,
Don't let nobody tell you, your life is over, Be every color that you are, Into the rush now, You don't have to know how, Know it all before you try. Next, with another arm movement the ribbon shot out over the water of the lake. It burned a hole through the fog and mist until it reached the far shore on the other end. The ribbon continued to glow slightly, but not as strongly as before. It was in a stable form right now, it would not hurt anyone, but still had enough energy for Rhyme to work with. It takes you to another place, imagine everything you can. All the colors start to blend, Your system overloads again.
Can You feel it?
Don't let nobody tell you, your life is over, Be every color that you are, Into the rush now, You don't have to know how, Know it all before you try.
Don't let nobody tell you, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Don't let nobody tell you, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Don't let nobody tell you, your life is over, Be every color that you are, Into the rush now, You don't have to know how, Know it all before you try
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah At the end Rhyme began to conduct the power more directly and direct the music itself less. He began to stretch out the thin path and made it wider, easier to walk on. He also made it thicker so it would not sag under their weight. Lastly, he slowly kneeled down at the very end of the song and placed his left hand on the ground purposefully, and the dull yellow ribbons turned a dead gray, as they turned fully solid. The bridge was done. Rhyme breathed hard for a minute as he rested where he knelt. It took a lot of energy for him to make his energy real. He normally just used it in its energy form, but you couldn’t walk on energy, at least most people couldn’t.

"You know, that wasn't necessary, I can get to The Academy on my own terms, but thanks for the nice pathway, you need anything now? Perhaps some more energy?" he asked. The flute already in his hand, the metal polished so it was like a mirror, his fingertips already placed precisely- he obviously already had something in mind for helping with strength though it wasn't quite what he was best at when it came to songs but he was skilled enough to know more than one thing, certainly that. "Or do you just want to get to the school? Either one works." He added with a shrug.

He mentally sighed in disgust with himself for not knowing that he only had to get himself across. That would have made this much, much easier for him. Sighing softly vocally this time he nodded.
“Yes please.” he said, the disappointment in his voice slightly there for using all the energy when he didn’t have to.

Gavin played a few crisp notes from the flute that came out in a haunting tone that was obviously aided with magic. If one tried to block out the noise it would be found to be impossible as the instrument sang it's song, as if bringing life into the air and then sending it directly into Rhyme, like caffeine only MORE MAGICAL and certainly more effective... and you don't have that horrible crash at the end of it. He ceased playing when he reached the high point of the song, otherwise he might accidentally have killed the student which wouldn't have been the best thing to do. Yeah, kid arrives at school, kid dies of a heart attack- would not be cool. He shrugged and put the flute back in it's place.

Rhyme’s eyes twitched rapidly a few times as the music energized him. He quickly stretched, hearing the bones in his back pop and crack. Stretching out his arms, he showed a rare smile.
“Thanks, now, lets start across before the magic begins to dissolve” he said as he began to half run out onto the pathway, it bending slightly under his weight but holding.

Gavin walked accross the magic bridge (wow... that sounded kinda... well... kinda gay *cough*) His hands tucked into his pockets and his calm gaze looked down into the water below, fish darted this way and that under the surface like ghastly specteres. The fish of these waters were not silver glories like others, thier scales had turned pale white over time and exposure to the real ghosts within the water around the ghost shipyards. He quickened his pace in order to catch up with Rhyme "Before we get to the academy you need to choose some classes to take, every student has five classes they're required to take, Magic, Weaponry, Alchemy, Beastry, Master as well as a break period. Your optional classes are:
Music, History, or Potionry for seventh period.
Holy, Flare, or Summoning for eighth.
Dragoon, Samurai, or Theivery for ninth.
Finally, Survival, or puppetmaster.
Please choose one for each period, and if there are any that are unclear to you, please ask."

Rhyme paused for a moment and turned around to face the teacher. He thought about it as he walked backward over the bridge. He didn’t know why but after the flute he seemed really hyper and happy. He hasn’t felt that way in a long long time. Last time he could remember was when he conducted his sisters.
“I’ll take Music of course, Summoning, Thievery, and Pupetmaster.” he said as he did a small flip of the still flexible ribbons and landed faced the front ways again. When he did a small ripple effect went down the ribbons to both ends.

Gavin removed a peice of paper from his pocket, a shopping list was written on the back, 'milk, Ritz crackers, bottled water, napkins, tuna' were listed there and he seemed to pay little attention to it, he then wrote down Rhyme's class schedule on the opposite side of the shopping list,
'1st. Magic 2nd. Weaponry 3rd. Alchemy 4th. Beastry 5th. Master 6th. Break 7th. Music 8th. Summoning 9th. Thievery 10th. Puppetmaster'
He handed the slip of paper to Rhyme, now walking side by side with his student. "Now then..." he said as he reached into one of the inner coat pockets and he searched for an item that was somewhere in there, he searched another pocket, then another.

Rhyme took the paper and pocketed. He also moved his baton into the wrist of his leather jacket, it disappearing within. He looked up at the foggy sky as he half listened to his teacher.
“So, do I like give that paper to someone?” he said.
Rhyme pulled his attention away from the sky when he heard the part about an item he was being given. He watched his teacher, waiting so see what he got.
((I wonder if I will get 2 levels so I can become my Songcaster...J/K))

"Not really, it's just to help you remember your classes. That's all." he said as he continued searching his pockets till he finally returned to the first pocket, "Here it is!" she said with a nod as she withdrew a small object. A jagged crystal that was hued a golden yellow, slowly pulsating sunset orange, dark blue wire was wrapped around the blunt base with multicoloured beads periodically placed througout the wrapping. A leather loop was engulfed by the wire so it was easier to carry around one's neck. Gavin dangled the crystal charm in front of his face and nodded.
*Rhyme has recieved the sunset charm* Depending on the user's state this charm will either heal them of attacks, or increase the offensive abilities of thier own. If they are more fatigued and injured it will heal, otherwise your magic will be strengthened.

Rhyme slowly took the object and put it around his neck, tucking it beneath his shirt. It glowed dimly beneath the dark fabric of his shirt, and it changed from a bright yellow to a dull purplish black. He tapped the pendent absently as he continued on again.
“Thanks,” he said as he felt the pendent, “But how long till we get to the school?”
