The man had a wicked smile, though it was placed there with a calm and devious look to it, as he looked at the paper. "Well, as much as I mean no disrespect to the boy's father...." he began, "I see no father before me. I see his boy- not to mention that he; as a student by the rules of the school, is the one who is to choose what he does and does not take."
In honesty, the man was pretty damn cool. Living on the edge......well, if you told him that, he'd laugh himself into a second death. He folded the paper into a plane and shot it off into the waters.

"Thank you!" Chase said with a tone of utter relief. Thanatos, on the other hand, looked dejected. After all, the raven was just doing his job, and his job included everything that Chase's father had demanded of him.
"Let's try this one more time..." Chase said as he cracked his knuckles, "I'll take Potionry. I'm going to a magic school, no point in learning regular stuff. Then I'll take Summoning, Thievery, and finally Survival." Each word built up the feeling of being free from the restraints of the patriarch of the family.
Thanatos would have a large amount of ranting to do to the Headmaster, but until then, he'd have no choice but to accept this experience with a grimace. Hopefully it wasn't foreshadowing a new era of rebellious thinking and acting with Chase.

((I have dinner- i may add onto it if i cant finish, alright?))
The Prince had kept his wicked, crooked smile on his face and nodded. "What you say, Chase, is now on a paper in your dorm room waiting for you when you get there a-"
Sardon, his hawk companion had landed from a sudden disappearance on his shoulder. Something cut the teacher off at this return, and he looked to the boy again. "I've been given news that Master is over now- as we are at a free period class. So, when we get to the other shore, you're free to find your room and get a tour of the academy. Sound good, kid?" Towards the end of Gaap's words was a bit of an amused laughter.

"Well isn't that...efficient," Chase said as he paused to find the correct word to correspond to this particular event. A new breeze passed over him, and it felt good, like the starting point of an era of freedom (more freedom than he had before, at least). His dark hair caught the breeze like a net caught a group of fishes and blew with the wind.
The breeze also did well to blow away some stress that had accumulated in him and was now oozing from any open part of his conscious, like mental Ebola. He sighed, "Good, I don't know if I want to be doing anything productive quite so soon." The sigh eventually evolved into a yawn. "So, is there any other business that we have to do?"
Thanatos wasn't so chipper on the rebellious new attitude that seemed to be instilled in Chase by the teacher. He just told himself to wait and wait, strike when its right, mind over matter.

The man's black hair with the few red streaks blew out of his face until some strands went back around his nose when the direction changed up. This kid wasn't so bad, and besides- he needed a little freedom by the looks of it. THAT; obviously, he knew he could do for the poor boy.
"Nope, that's all. Oh, you'll want your orb too- won't you?" he said aloud, almost forgetting (though in total sarcasm) about the first item the kid recieved once coming to the school. Suddenly in his hand was a fiery flaming orb from the inside with a black glossy outter coat so it was holdable.
"All students get this their first day here."

Chase hesitantly thought of accepting an orb of fire. It was a foreign orb, of course, and he wasn't about to forget the fire part. Of course it was obviously covered to protect from the pesky third-degree burns, but the fact remained that Chase was still thinking things in a third-dimensional way. He eyed it carefully before asking: "What does it do?" His first thought was to break on someone and set them aflame, like a pocket-sized malatov cocktail, but something told him that that wasn't what the enigmatic orb was used for.

"Don't worry about it, Chase, it won't burn you....that's the best part about these things." the teacher reassured the student with an ending shrug. The air seemed to clear some as the boat began to slow down. "It's used for necromancers like yourself. Whenever you feel like you can't get that last bit of power in to summon something or the like, this should help. I hope you wait to use that for now though, until Master when you're with me. It may look fiery- but its one helluva killer if you don't use it correctly. In the mean time, put it in safe keeping. I'll give you the more important details in class."
"Now watch yourself, a lot of the teachers aren't as down-to earth as me; they're very strict, and I would be as well if I was handling some dangerous tools and toxins like that. They mean well though, so give them the benifit of the doubt- would ya?" Gapp suggested. "The next time I see you will be at Master class, Chase. And when I find that rubberband I'll give it to you.......
"Welcome to Twilight Moon Academy, kid." Gapp ended as he stood on the front of the boat and the fog thinned out to the castle like outside of the academy.

After being reassured that he wouldn't burst into flames, Chase reluctantly grabbed the orb from Gaap carefully. Still, he expected a flaming heat to explode from the orb, but it was a pleasant warmth that he felt on his hand, almost enticing. Snapping back into reality, Chase put the orb into his duffel bag of assorted goods.
The stop felt a little sudden, but the jerk forward wasn't much thanks to the intuition of slowing down the craft beforehand. "Thanks," was all he managed to muster up as he grabbed his things and began to head toward the academy.
"I don't like him. Much too free-willed--all of those wretched demons are. No restraints. Don't be fooled, Chase. They all want one and only one thing: souls. In fact, I'm sure that orb he gave you is rigged. Don't use it, in fact, don't even touch it again. A prize like you would be a great thing to hang above his fiery mantle," Thanatos said when they were out of earshot. He continued, but the mist seemed to drown out any other noise the raven was making, despite how close he was to Chase.
"Yeah, okay," he said sarcastically as he ascended the stairs.
