A Not so Peaceful Walk though the Forest

[Chris]

Loki's eyes sprung open a his body returned, the energy returned to him and he could sense the world with clarity yet again. In his mind he felt Kassindra's lips press against his own for one last time, before vanishing. His whole body felt as if he had been sleeping for years. He stood quickly and offered his hand to Seger.
"I would give you a gram of Deuterium if i had any." He said to Seger, "and when we get back to the school, I'll buy you what ever you need."
Loki looked down at his sword, but did not find it, only the onyx sheath was there, "Crap..." he whispered, "we need to go back..."

[Creator]

"First of all, I don't know what that is, and second, I don't want any," Seger said as he returned Ruby to her sheath and shook Loki's hand. "Besides, you wouldn't have needed it if I had been more help in the first place. And I'm the one who pissed off the dragon." He stared walking back toward the lake, locking his hands behind his head to look up at the sky. "I don't really need anything, I don't think. I already have a source of food and shelter, and I have music..." He glanced back at Ruby. "...as soon as she's back to normal. Using that kind if power shorts her out for a while." He walked in silence for a moment before speaking up again. "So who do you miss?"

[Chris]

"Deuterium is the most precious substance in the universe, we've yet to master proton to proton atomic fusion, but deuterium fusion is extremely efficient in energy generation." he sighed and followed in to step with Seger, "You could not have known my friend, such things don't happen in more rational settings."
"Kassindra." Loki said, the name rolling off his tongue like velvet. His eyes closed as the thought of her warm, sweet breath on his face and her soft silky hands on his chest overloaded his conscious mind like a drug.
His eyes opened slyly, as if he had just committed a greatly devious act in his mind and he smiled in much the same manner to Seger, "Do you miss anyone?" he asked.

Seger had turned his head just enough to be able to see Loki's reaction out of the corner of his eye, and turned back to face forward when he turned the question around. After another moment of walking in silence, he grinned broadly and laughed. "Yeah, I guess so. I had to leave a friend of mine to come here, but I try not to let things get to me. You've only got one life, right? Might as well live it happily. Things could always be worse."
He thought for a moment, looking down at the ground as if troubled. He didn't really like for people to be unhappy, a dangerous trait in one who could usually fix their problems. "What happened to her?" he asked finally. "You must be using past tense for a reason."

"not let things get to you aye?" Loki said, his eyes closing for a second as he nodded, "I did that for eight years, i think its time to let things get to me." He remembered his third combat sortie, he had just gotten his fifth kill, he was officially an Ace, and he was happy as could be. he swooped back after bypassing the rubble to see what species the Ejected pilot was. It was then that he had been locked onto by another Servaeri's missile and he had do an evasive roll to the left. the roll had his wing impacting the ejected pilot, a human, and his blood has frozen on the top of his canopy.
Loki promptly vomited, with only stomach acid being splayed on the ground.

Seger turned and watched Loki carefully, assessing him. After a moment he took out the Bog Orb, this time summoning a monkey creature by will. "Go get his sword. It's by the lake." The monkey took off, maneuvering quickly while Seger waited with Loki. "Obviously, you let things get to your stomach. You alright?" Seger was fairly good at reading a person's emotions, but he couldn't tell something as specific as Loki's flashback. He simply assumed he felt a bit sick after nearly dying.

[Chris]

"I'm fine." Loki said quietly, "Its just I remembered something from The war." he righted himself and looked at Seger and examined his concerned Face. "Such things should not trouble you, the war is irrelevant now, here it has not even happened."
"Kassindra is still alive, at least in my time." he said, heaving a sigh, "I just doubt that I will ever see Her again. I proposed to her about three days before i appeared in this academy, its the first time I've really thought about her."
Loki would have asked Seger about his left behind, but figured he did not want to get into it either.

'Time travel.... Makes sense, now that I think about it.'
"That's sad. How did you get here? I mean, is there any known way to get back?... I've never really been too good with romance, they fall for me because I love music, and leave me because I love music. A guy has to have priorities, right? Music before people, I always say." He began to wonder if he would be able to send people through time, but it wasn't likely he'd try. When it came to his abilities, Seger was rather apprehensive.

[Chris]

"i think it was a wormhole of some kind, but it could have been anything." Loki sighed, his gaze dropping to the scene in front of him, his voice soft and low. "Physics is an odd thing, and our science has been halted as we focus on expanding rather than improving. We have pushed the limits of our practical Knowledge, but theory has languished for centuries." his eyes still focused on the ground, he could smell the water up ahead, "I thought love would would keep me focused on something productive, maybe I'd reactivate my Commission, this time in the Militia, and serve the Sol System."
as they edged closer Loki Looked At Seger, "do you think there might be anything in the water still?"

"Probably a rock," he said with a snort, watching as the monkey came zipping back to them with Loki's sword curled in its tail. He offered it to Seger, who in turn pointed to Loki. "'S not mine." Seger had gotten lost early on in Loki's mini-speech, but he could take a stab at its meaning. "You can't choose to love, it has to happen on its own or it's pointless. Rarely works out by pure willpower." Not that he would know; Seger had promised himself that he'd never let a girl or anything else hold him back. "The whole process is way too tedious for me."

[Chris]

Loki's eyeborws shot up for a second as the creature appeared, the three foot onyx and gold hilted blade gripped frimly in its small hands. He was really more surpised at its prescense than its strength as he had forgotten that it had been assigned the task. "Thank you." he replied as he took hold of it. he smiled, it actually felt lighter than he remembered.
"I didn't chose to love, i fell in love, and chose not to oppose it. How old are you?"

[Creator]

"Nineteen... I was sent through time too, but I came from the past, rather than the future. And it probably wasn't nearly as big a gap as yours. I was born in '31." The probably purpose of Loki's question hit him, and he laughed. "I never said I was an expert. I just know what I think I know, and try to give advice when it's not needed. Alas, it is my curse," he added dramatically.

[Chris]

"Thirty One?" Loki Said, his eye brows twisted above his eyes, "I'm not familiar with the Dating System, mine was dated from after the establishment of the Imperial Throne, 5433 Sol orbits ago. at least in my time. "I'm twenty three, Two years in the Imperial Naval Preparatory School in Capital city, three at the Imperial Naval Warfare Academy, and then four in War." he looked at Seger with a smile, "Be glad you don't know what its like to take life from a Sentient, i wish i didn't know."
he looked around the bend, seeing merely the light from the lake glinting into his eyes, "Should we return to the school? or do you wish for us to try our luck at a mountain?"

"Is that an official 'I wish'?" Seger asked, fingers sparking with extra magic. "Ah, probably not... I don't like the idea of violence in general, which is why I spent so much time only learning defensive and evasive arts. My friend Adren can learn a martial art extremely quickly, but he forgets it extremely quickly as well. So basically, he'd read up on a form of martial arts, then teach me its defensive methods before he forgot it all. I tell you, if he had kept the skills for more than a few hours, he'd be unstoppable. Poor guy always goes back to blind fistfighting." He looked around, cracking his knuckles as a bird flew by overhead. "I don't wish. I've seen what can happen, so it's sort of a personal rule now. I'm up for it, I'm just not so sure you are."

[Chris]

Loki shook his head very fast and chuckled a little, "no, it was simply a figurative statement, if i have romantic notions, i shall want war. and War is a nasty thing, so i shall keep my Memories." he smiled, an odd thing if he had anymore flashbacks. "What else do you think is in the forest my friend? should we go looking for something to commendeer for ourselves?"
