"I haven't noticed," he replied flatly. "I think it was a different set of guns that you paid good money for." Some people do not react well to being frightened, and could get a bit grumpy. Even so, he was more teasing than serious. Von Neros yawned widely. "Hey, Efram, if you ever want to run away from this crazy cheat-whore, slip me an anonymous note, alright? Maybe you just need something for your nerves in general; forget about the opposite sex."

Harriet elbowed Efram slightly with a sly smile on her face and she whispered something to him with a but of a laugh bubbling through her expression, obviously finding it rather amusing, whatever it was that she was saying and oddly enough she seemed to have been ignoring Aubrey and rather efficiently at that. Such a lovely woman, that Harriet.
Efram shot his friend a worried and honestly creeped out look, before giving the same look to Neros, obviously whatever Hatty had said involved Neros and it was enough to make the mute young man step away from him, an entirely too displeased expression on his face for anyone to simply dismiss whatever Harriet could have possibly whispered. He looked back to Harriet, a tinge of unsurety there.
"I think so." Harriet responded with the swiftness of a desert rainstorm descending from the heavens to hail flash floods and those kinds of lovely things. It was like she was reading Efram's mind, though such ideas were nonsense.
