The Death of Amber. [One-Shot]

Her feet barely seemed to touch the ground, she was moving with such lightning fast speed. Her lungs felt as if they were about to burst, but she never had enough air. Her whole body ached from the stinging cold and the pain of sprinting. Not even Amber could keep this up.

She glanced over my shoulder and was punished for her curiousity by a bright pain that seared her eyes and threw her off balance. Amber fell, then jerked back to her feet, breathing hard and spinning around wildly.

Nothing.

Amber sighed, a puff of mist coming from her mouth. She started forward again, but her foot was caught in something. She glanced down and saw a pool of black at her feet, gripping them in place. Amber gasped and tried to wiggle free, but couldn't. A dark wind swirled around her as black flames crawled up her legs, slowly disenagrating her.

The girl cried out for help, but she was alone. Amber's choked sobs did nothing but spit out the blood that had come up trying to escape the killing fire. Blood ran from her nose and eyes and mouth, but the flames were already surrounding her.

And, just before she was gone, a familiar tune ran itself through her mind. It was a song she had not thought of in years.

"I never thought I'd die alone
I laughed the loudest, who'd have known?"

And she smiled.

I didn't draw this picture.
Well, I mean, I did, but I didn't mean to.
I just felt like drawing, and out of nowhere this is what became of it.
And later the story of how it happened.
And the pain of this actually happening to me.

Adam's Song should truly be called
