Basics
Enchanting is the art of using magic to change the structure of an object to make it stronger. It could add physical defense or magical defense, or even lower the weight of the armor. Each level of enchant gets harder and harder since as the make up of the item gets more complex, the energy needed to change that structure must also increase.
Level 1-Orbs and Crystals
Orbs and crystals are the easiest to enchant because their make up makes it easy for magical energy to flow through them and be stored in them. This is why many magical items have crystals or orbs in them. These items do have limits on how much energy they can store and take. If too much is used then they will explode harming the enchanter and anyone else around. That is why these are used for low power enchantments.
Level 2-Single Level Non Magical Pelt Armor
Non magical items are easy to enchant. They got no natural magical resistance so they change easily with the aide of magic. Because it is non magical though it cannot hold to much power and might burst into flames if too much energy is put into it. If done right that can be a very profitable.
Level 3-Duel Layer Non Magical Pelt Armor
As one would expect, enchanting two different armors put together is more challenging then a single type of armor. All in all this is almost identical to the single layer enchantment but more power is needed to perform the change. Also, with two layers more energy can be put into it without it overloading and burning.
Level 4-Magical Pelt Armor
This is a large leap for most mages. Magical pelts are much harder to enchant then non-magical because of the magical resistance they already have. You have to overcome that and change the item to make it stronger. But if done right the item will be much stronger then before since magical pelts and other items can hold a lot of energy without overloading and bursting into flames.
Level 5- Weapons
Weapons are very hard to enchant. Normally they are made or multiple elements and sometimes enchanted. Also, you must enchant to raise the attacking power of the object, which is harder to do then simply increasing an objects defense. Also, if done incorrectly there is no immediate signs of it. It will only surface when the enchantment is used, since it will not work. Also, any bad karma acquired with the enchanted weapon will also partly go with the enchanter so beware who you give your enchanted weapons too.
Level 6-Duel Level Magical Pelt Armor
This is the highest enchantment I will go in this book. For higher levels please consult my other book. (Which is located in the schools highly restricted section) Duel Level Magical enchantment is harder then single level just like how duel non-magical is harder then single level. With two or more layers, you have to overcome both of the magical resistances from the materials and change both of them. This will put a lot of strain on the enchanter. These items can also hold a large amount of magical energy since there are two or more materials to hold the energy, but...if the item is enchanted wrong, duel level magical will not simply burn, but go critical in a large explosion.
