Name: Elven False Night Copelandia
Alternative Names: Shroom, Faery Bed
Type: Fungus
Description: A tall, capped mushroom which is normally tan in color with a brown speckled stem and a blue spotted cap, when crushed the fungus bruises a slight purple hue, betraying it's rather... psychedellic properties.
Upon being eaten, it causes hallucinations and a general feeling of well being and warmth, despite the fact that it actually lowers your body temperature, slowing down your heart rate and bodily functions in a half-hibernative state. The fungus itself is very addictive and it is not uncommon to find someone who constantly craves the substance. The Elven False Night Copelandia may be ingested, or lit and smoked, either method produces the same effects, except ingesting the shroom provides a quicker drug trip, though more potent.
The Elven False Night Copelandia has a very short fragment of time when it is available for harvest, seeing as it only grows at night when there is a half moon or less in the night sky, seeing as it needs large amounts of darkness to grow, but it's spores need a period of sunlight in order to actually start forming into the shroom. Once the morning light touches the shroom, if it is still in the ground, it will release it's nutrients and chemicals into the soil and die, though it is possible to prevent this and treat it with a blend of special oils. Unfortunately this blend of oils is a closely guarded secret of the Santosai People.
The fungus sells for high prices on markets, even though it is regarded as highly illegal in most places due to the fact that it's highly considered to be bad for the general health of the people who consume it due to the dangers of an overdose of the fungus which causes the person to go into a comatose state and eventually die. The chemicals inside the fungus also take an exceedingly long time to exit the body, sometimes taking as long as three weeks, varying from person to person depending on thier metabolisms. This causes the person to at times have random hallucinations or even pass out at random times, which is normally not the safest thing for the majority of people.
Edible: Only if you want a massive drug trip.
Native To: The Elven False Night Copelandia grows in any place that is abundant in magic.
