I was thinking, what if after certain quests or talking to people, that you could get a job or special ability for your character. I am getting really interested in those Ward Bag, so I was thinking that Rhyme could ask Akusui for a few of the boxes for him to experiment with. Then he could make bags and sell them for SP. After the first boxes given to him he would have to buy the stuff.
I was thinking that only 1 or 2 jobs could be learned and there could be a list I will put at the bottom of this. Then every time someone wanted to make something they would have to put the materials at the Top of a thread and then RP what the character did. Then, if they used reasonable amount of material and skill a Mod could say that the item was made, the item was half made (doesn’t work as well) or that the item failed (broken, could be repaired by a shopkeeper or something)
Jobs
Magic Based
Enchanting -- Enchanting gems or armors for effect
Charm Making -- The creating of protective charms or damaging curses (NPC’s only)
Tailor -- Turns cloth into clothes
Melee Based
Weapon Smith -- Makes Weapons
Armor Smith -- Makes Armor
Range Based
Leather Armor Maker -- Turns Leather into leather armor
Bow/Arrow Maker -- Makes Bows/Arrows
Gathering Based
Herb Gathering -- Gather herbs to sell to others to make potions and sometimes Ward making
Skinning -- Skin hides to sell to make leather
Mining -- Sell for Blacksmithing
Herder -- Lets the collection of fur to be worked into cloth
General Production Based
Leather Working -- Used to turn skin into leather, can add effects by adding herbs and such to mix
Smith -- Turns ore into bars to make weapons and metal armor
Spinner -- Spins fur and fiber into Cloth
Potionist -- Uses herbs to make potions
These are just some to be thought about, some could be thrown out or added. I just thought this could add new demission to the forum by adding a small economy. If you are afraid of it effecting SP too much it could use a whole new system, maybe TP (Trade Points) or JP (Job Points). That way it is a whole new side bar of the forum.
