Suzume looked around, "Oookay then... now to find this erm.. boat maybe? GAH! Where is it!?!?" she exclaimed, on her back was a simple leather bag with her belongings in it and she wore a long dark brown jacket as a dress, the buttons running up the front were completely fastened and her right hand was covered with a light tan leather glove with her family's symbol burned onto the back of it. Her skin was pale like moonlight, her eyes a blazing turquoise like the stars at night, her hair dark red like freshly spilled blood. She was quite a strange person from the looks of her, she stood at a full height of five foot ten. SHe yawned as she looked around, out of the corner of her eye she spotted the vessel and she walked over silently, only the tak tak tak of her feet were heard, on her feet was a pair of chunkly leather boots that went half way up her lower leg, they were sturdy, comfortable and stable- just how Suzume liked her shoes. She silently stepped onto the boat and looked around as she reached into her pocket and pulled out a letter, she had been invited here! People wanted her somewhere! Suzume smiled despite the derisive surroundings as she showed the captain her letter and awaited the arrival at Twilight Moon Academy. She was quiet so far, not wanting to say anything rude, though in her silence she probably came accross as rude, but she didn't care. She was finally here after her long trip and the long talk with her parents about conduct and other various things she already knew, see she wasn't exactly the richest of people in the world.

Suzume looked accross the deck of the ship and her eyes fell upon a cat with a white pelt with gold and black splotches, the cat wasn't hers and she didn't want it. The cat's two long tails swayed nonchalantly as it watched Suzume on the boat, it's amber eyes were bright and it's pupils only slits as it stared at Suzume. Suzume blinked her eyes for a second and the cat was gone, Suzume exhailed heavily in relief, the cat had followed her all the way from home and she didn't like the troublesome Nekomata behind her every waking moment. She shuddered as she wondered where the cat may be now and she looked over towards the Academy, hoping that it wouldn't follow her through the halls every day, or make it's home in her room.
(please note that she does not own the cat! It just follows her whether Suzume likes it or not. If you know anything about nekomata than you would know that they aren't at all like Kirara (Kilala) in Inyuasha, most aren't that kind.)

( 'tis fine. Small creatures are allowed to be brought as companions, so just don't let her larger form get caught^^ ) "Get off that boat, it's not your property. And anyway, if you continue walking around there with that cat of yours, the floor will splinter and you'll get injured." A woman walked to the edge of the boat and smiled, placing her hands on her hips. She had a slight glow around her, such as one a goddess would have. She probably was one too, since her hair was unnaturally perfect, a silver almost-black color. Her eyes were too unnatural- purple with golden flecks. She bowed low and smiled again, "You must be Suzume, correct? Allow me to introduce myself. I am Elsren."

"Yes, I'm Suzume, nice to meet you Elsren." she said as she bowed at the waist, the cat though was nowhere to be seen, "By the way it's not my cat." she said not wanting anything to do with the cat at all. Her turquoise eyes darted to look behind her as she heard the soft mew of the animal, it's two tails resting softly on the floor. Suzume hurried off the boat as the cat followed her, pouncing on a mouse along the way and carrying it in it's mouth.
(Nekomata don't actually do that most of the time, it's mostly unique to the show.)

Elsren pointed at the School, "We could walk there, take a boat, or fly. Take your pick."

(OH!, heheh! erm... *blushes from embarrassment* X-last then!) Suzume stood there, knowing that the cat was behind her, "Well I was kind of planning on taking the boat." she said with a shrug, not really knowing what to say. She was slightly confused with it all, she had journeyed a long way to get here and she was so close and drawing a blank mind.

Elsren smiled, "Boat it is." Without any hand gestures or words, a stark white bone rose from the water, as if being pulled out by invisible ropes. The bottom of the boat shimmered a faint gold, but other than that, the boat seemed natural. Elsren hopped in a took the wheel, beckoning Suzume to get aboard.

Suzume looked at the boat nervously, "Don't those things float on the surface, not mysteriously come from the ocean!" she said nervously as she stepped onto the boat feeling like it would return to the waves beneath them at any moment. Behind her the two tailed cat followed her, purring happily like any normal, innocent pussycat. Suzume looked out onto the water as the cat behind her faded into a mist, Suzume knew it's spirit was probably hovering somewhere, still watching, still waiting.

Elsre looked back, "Well, I guess human boats do that... Never really liked 'em. I'm used to the Gods' boats. Hold on! If you fall off and get dragged away by some living corpses, I'll be held responsible!" The boat started to rumble as the shimmering gold crawled it's way up the boat and above, creating a gold sphere around the top. The gold shimmered brightly, then vanished altogether. Finally, the boat bean moving. Not across the water, though. Down into it.

Suzume clenched her teeth as she looked around, "Maybe I should've asked a little more before my decision!" she said to herself through her teeth as she saw the two tailed cat at the head of the boat with a laughing grin dancing accross it's face. With the knowledge of living corpses she knew the Nekomata was planning something, whether or not it would happen soon wasn't to her knowledge but she knew it wouldn't be good. Suzume saw the water, or at least what she thought was water rush up the sides of the boat, she was probably more unnerved than the cat by the rising waves. "Are you sure about this?!?!" she asked looking nervously as various smells came to her nostrils and her skin was covered with goosebumps and her hair on end. Her turquose eyes looked accross the boat, her common sense telling her to panick, her mind telling her to relax- unfortunately her common sense was begginning to win. She clenched her teeth even more as she looked at the water, knowing it could pour onto the deck at any moment she heard the melancoly twang of laughter behind her, it was cat laughter. The Nekomata was laughing behind Suzume and she turned around to see it was gone, only to hear it laughing even louder behind her again she turned around and saw the cat sitting on the edge of the boat laughing at her. She frowned as she ran foreward, running towards the railing to get rid of the cat. She stretched her hands out to get the two tailed Nekomata that had been haunting her, unable to stand another minute of it. As soon as it was in reach ot darted out of the way, sending her over the railing and her hands gripping on the side of the boat, the rest of her hidden from veiw. Suzume cursed her stupidity and the Nekomata as it dissapeared. She knew the cat would appear later if she managed to pull herself up. Suzume looked down and saw the water around her so she forced herself back to the boat till only her legs hung off the boat and she mumbled, "naraba sore weren't for anna baka nekomata!" the words were almost completely in Japanese. She had barely focused on her surroundings the entire time realizing how much of an idiot she seemed like, chasing a cat around the boat and risking her own life. She probably looked like she was trying to keep the cat safe, though that was the complete opposite of what she had been doing.

Elsren grabbed Suzume's arm and lifed her onto the deck with inhuman strength, smiling, "Silly, why'd you chase after him for? Didn't you know Nekomata's are smart? He would obviously jump if you ran after him. Heck, even normal cats'd do that!" She pulled Zuzume over to a circular chair that wrapped around one of the masts, "Sit. Nothin'll harm you of you are in this boat, and you stay put." Elsren sat easily next to her, leaned back, folded her legs, and waited, almost in a bored manner. The water began flooding up towards the boat. It quickly spilled over the side but stopped at the edge of the boat, as if an invisible wall was there. As the boat lurched deeper into the murky water, the aqua began reaching higher and higher up the boat, still held off by some invisible wall, until the light from the surface vanished and was replaced by a water so dark it was almost black. As soon as the boat was fully under the water, several living corpses rammed against the side of the deck, rattling it. As if oblivious to the undead desperate to get inside, Elsren turned to Suzume and spoke, "Now Suzume, look at me, ignore them. Tell me this, why is that nekomata following you? What did you do to it?"

"nothing, nothing that I know of at all." she said as she shrugged, "As I was coming her and it just appeared from nowhere, I don't even remember when it appeared, it just wont leave me alone." she said as she looked behind her expecting to see the malicous cat smiling at her. The boat rattled and Suzume gripped at the seat beneath her with her hands, unsure what was really going on. Suzume rubbed her temples as if she had a headache from it all and she looked up towards the giant dome of water and she quicklty looked back down.

Elsren looked oddly towards Suzume, "Are you sure? Maybe I'm being superstitious, but nekomatas kinda change the luck of those who wronged it in the past." She looked at the chunks of undead banging on the ship, "The undead are /supposed/ to come out in the morning, around 8 or 9. It's 10 in the evening now... I'll have to tell the Headmaster about this..." She glanced at Suzume once more in an unsure sort of way, then leaned back and stretched, "Yeah, it'll take a couple minutes to reach the school. Travel's a bit slower this way, but safer. Don't ask why, I can't tell you, and the truth would make your wet yourself." Elsren smiled, "But, don't worry. Nothing'll horrible will happen with me near you. After all, Goddesses /are/ supposed to have good luck." She winked at Suzume, "Tell me about yourself, where'd you come from?"

"I come from the East, Nippon Edo to be matter of fact." she said as she remembered her homeland and she remembered the nekomata and she looked around the ship nervously again, wondering if it would show up any moment for another trick. Suzume scratched the side of her face lightly as she looked around the ship, a little curious about the magics that kept the water off of it and her turquoise eyes moved back and forth over the deck for any indicators, the sound of a cat's meow sounded from below deck though little did she know that nobody on board the boat heard it, along with the lost souls slamming into the ship's sides. Suzume stood up as she heard the noise.

Elsren pulled down Suzume once more and glared at her, "Ignore her. It's not your Nekomata. I'll show you her some other day. As I said, this boat is protected, so that also means the Nekomata isn't allowed within the boat. If it did, it would be permenantly turned into a frog. And there aren't any loopholes, either. The Headmaster performed this spell for my boat for my last birthday."
