Christelle knocked quietly on the door of the adoption center which swung open, a glass eyeball rolled toward her foot. She jumped clear of the killer eye and warily entered.

A tall woman burst stumblign through the door, grasping for the eye. She stood up, and wiped her eyes, as if she had been crying. Noticing Christelle, she gave an attempted smile, then ran back inside.
A shorter girl peered through the door, then swung it open with a saddened look on her face. She spoke quietly, "We have a wide variety of creatures here. Most have been left just because their owners cannot tend to them anymore, and will soon have to be put to death, so please adopt as many as you'd like."
The woman behind her let out a short cry as she slowly pet a fluffy creature. The creme-colored creature lifted its head and bumped its nose against her chin, receiving another cry. Its dark eyes gleamed with confusion as he watched his old master break away and run out the door.
The girl lifted up the creature and said, "Well, you little peché, let's go..." and began walking towards the back room marked "No entry permitted."

"Wait!" Christelle grabbed the girl's arm. "What will you do with him?! Don't kill him! I'll take him instead!"

The woman paused at the door the same time as the girl with the animal. They both turned with a "What?!"
the girl faced Christelle, "Well, the thing is, this peché is severly poisoned. He will eventually die when everything in him melts away. We have been trying to find a cure, but the only known one, the Spell of Cashwik can only be learned from one of the four Holy books in the Dark Forest and the Underwater Grotto. Two books are in each. Since both of us are incapeable of going in such territory, and noone has gone in for us, we have no choice but to put him to sleep."
The woman grapsed Christelle's arm with a strangely powerful grasp and said, "If you can find the cure, then you may have the Peché. Please! I just want him to be healed."

You must find one of the Holy Books and learn the spell of Cashwik before the Peché dies of internal melting. There are two places to go: The Dark Forest or the Underwater Grotto. Choose which ever you desire and save the fox-squirrel!

Christelle ran in through the door, shouting, "I'VE GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
She the vial carefully on the counter and stepped back, proud of her accomplishments.

The girl picked it up and ran to the Peché, stuffing the liquid down his throat. The Peché stuood up and began quivering. He let out a few sharp cries and ran over to Christelle, hiding in her pocket. He let out a series of pained yelps and the creature ran back out onto the table. His fur glowed a bright white-blue and began changing.
The woman gasped and said, "He's morphing!"
The light dimmed and the fox-squirel now had two short horns, a fluffy white pair of wings, and obsidian claws.
The girl inspected it and said, "He's in his adult form... the dange-" she cut off and handed it to Christelle saying, "See ya!!" and vanished behind the door with the other woman.
The Peché growled low and hid within Christelle's pockets.

"Thank you!" Christelle shouted through the door and darted out and toward the school, eager to see what else she could explore.
