Cyndon awoke to another gray looking winter day in the castle town. There were already all sorts of people bustling outside of his house, getting ready for the vacation of the winter months. Cyndon quickly got showered and dressed and without a moment to spare. His friend Shin had appeared at his doorstep to drag him outside to play. Cyndon quickly dressed in winter clothes and headed out into the blusterry cold day.
There were all sorts of kids laughing and screaming as they threw snowballs and slush chunks all around. Cyndon and Shin had fun sledding down a large hill near the castle as the guards watched on in a very amused fashion.
"So, this year you'll be 11, Kou! How does it feel?" Shin jokingly interrogated his friend. Cyndon chuckled as he looked over at Shin with a look as if to say 'you're such a dork.' They prepared the sled for another go down the hill, but halfway up things changed drastically. The gray skies changed to a dull mottled purple as the light around them changed and darkened. People were coughing and falling unconscious all around Cyndon, and the guards were all incapacitated. Cyndon drew his crystal sword, but it being so large for a child his age, he had yet to learn how to weild it. He never even heard the person behind him as he wound up with the club in his hand...
Cyndon awoke with a start as he sat straight up and immediately clutched the back of his head in agony. What happened to him...? There were large brackets holding his legs in place that were impossible to undo, keeping him rooted in place. There were tubes bubbling around him, and in his arm a needle was taped in place. Someone was using medicine on him, but who? His head was pounding with pain as he continued to try to work past it to figure things out. He didn't have long to wait as doors nearby opened and someone began to speak.
"Ah... vee are avake i zee." A Thick accent met his ears as a stout elderly human walked up to him. He was dressed in a white lab coat and had thick horn-rimmed glasses on his nose, as well as long black hair in a ponytail. He was reminiscent of Hojo from the Final Fantasy 7 game that Cyndon had read about in the modern world news. He looked at this man with contempt in his eyes and shot back.
"Who are you? What do you want with me?" His head was still a massive wrack of pain. The scientist laughed as he responded to the little child's question.
"You are vayry smarrt for somevone yor ayge... You have been selaycted for zis expehrimehnt..." The Scientist laughed again as he took a syringe full of blue fluid and walked towards Cyndon's needled side. He put the syringe in the opening of the needle and pushed the plunger in until he could no longer. Cyndon's vision got cloudy as he lost consciousness once again.
"How is the experiment coming along?" A deep voice asked as Cyndon became lucid once more. There was a shuffling noise as Cyndon opened his eyes to darkness. Apparenlty they had blindfolded him so as to keep him from the knowledge of what they were doing. He heard a large bubbling noise, as if there was a large version of the tanks before near him. The Scientist nervously approached the table and pierced Cyndon's arm with a lancet as he reacted to the voice.
"Eet ees almohst vinished, master... Geev eet taim!" The lancet began to let blood out of Cyndon's vein and as quickly as it had started it had ended as the scientist walked away towards the tank. He injected the blood into the tank and the bubbling increased as Cyndon once again lost consciousness. He awoke for the final time outside, right at the foot of the snowhill. No one else was around, and he still had a massive headache as he tried to recall what had happened to him. He walked back to his house, where his parents were nearly histerical with worry.
"WHERE DID YOU GO, CYNDON KOUVINDAO!? YOUR MOTHER AND I WERE WORRIED SICK!" Cyndon clasped his head between his hands and groaned as his father's voice was too loud.
"I'd tell you if i could, dad... please keep your voice down, i don't feel well." Cyndon's mother rushed over to him and hugged him tightly as she took him upstairs to bed. He closed his eyes and quickly fell asleep.
Meanwhile in the lab the scientist was staring intently at the Cyndon floating in the tank, his eyes closed and his body covered by the frosted glass tube. The scientists glasses flashed dangerously as he began to laugh malevolently.
