Water - Tons of the Stuff

"If you let something like that hold you back and weaken you, you're a fool." He snickered, shaking his head. 'I need no explanation? That's something a child would say when they can't think of anything that makes sense to use as an excuse.' He popped his fingers, staring down at the ground. Arrogant? Was that what he was? "No," he said aloud. "I'm no better than anyone else. If an Olympic racer beats an average man in a footrace, and knows he can beat them, does that make him arrogant? No, it simply means he understands the work involved and he is better prepared for the situation." He looked up, eyes wide. "I just understand the situation better than anyone else, and that gives me an advantage. But no harm done, let's be gentlemen and settle this peacefully. You can have the ring, but you have to take it from my finger." He held out the hand with the ring on it, the other hand a safe distance from his kunai pouch. "I won't move. Deal?"

Choosing to ignore most of Damon's words, Dimor's head fell at a significant angle to one side. Dimor knew how his own rings worked, and knew that they could not be removed by anyone but him. But.. what if he allowed another to remove them? Would that work as well? Doubts were high. Damon did seem quite sensible, but also very deceptive. 'This ring may not even be what I want... and chance are more than high that this is a trick... but if he's truthful, and I do in fact need the ring...' Un-tilting his head, Dimor held one arms straight out in front of him, as though reaching toward Damon. A shadow snaked along the ground. When close enough, it lifted and became more solid, forming an arm and a hand. The dark, wispy fingers curled around the ring and...

((Don't know how this suspense will end xD))

"No," Damon said, a thin purple layer of stone forming around his hand and the ring as the shadow attempted to remove it. "If you really want it, you have to get over yourself and do it on your own, not use a shadow. You're not too good to move your own arm." He grinned, staring Dimor in the eyes as if daring him. Knowing Damon, at least, Damon's evil side, it was most likely a trick, but there may be some truth to it. "Unless you're so weak that you can't even get it yourself. But I can do that easily, and I was under the impression that you thought you were better than me."

Dimor's arms recoiled and the shadow immediately fell apart into nothing. He held Damon's gaze evenly, eyes expressing nothing but his usually chilling harshness. Without thought or word, Dimor's finger twitched and he... exploded ((o.o...I didn't do it 3:)) There was a small sound like that of rushing wind as Dimor's body burst into tiny pieces of shadow. A moment later, maybe two, the pieces reformed just in front of Damon. There Dimor stood, all well again, and continued to hold Damon's gaze. Even as he brought up one gloved hand, the Drow's eyes never wavered. Their eye levels seemed dead even, hardly any difference in height. Dimor placed his fingers on the ring and...

((*dramatic music*))

Damon didn't move during Dimor's little moment of fun, nor did he blink. Instead, he reached his free hand up, poking where Dimor's mouth should have been. "...weird. You really don't have one. I'd always assumed it was just covered up by the makeup you wear." He shrugged, allowing Dimor to take the ring. "Oh well, I don't suppose girls would really want to kiss you anyway."

Dimor's eyes narrowed when Damon went to poke him. Some of the eerily relaxed air disappeared, rekindling parts of the Drow's hard glare. A small wisp of thin shadow kept Damon from actually touching him, and as soon as he felt the ring was off, Dimor leaped back a meter or two. He glanced down at the small trinket in his hand before closing his fingers and dropping his arm to his side. He didn't put it on yet, as he was still wary of any tricks. Dimor's attention went back to Damon. "You are arrogant and unpredictable, it seems." he stated, adding on to his earlier comment.

"Not true. I can predict myself very easily, so it can be done." He grinned, despite having failed to poke him. 'When I'm serious, his guard is up. Either that or he simply doesn't want to be touched on the face. Either way, when I'm playing with him, he's less likely to catch what I'm doing. He probably doesn't even remember that I've already touched him.' A trickle of electricity ran down his arm and popped off into the ground. "You're a bit too late though, I'm afraid. I've already had a glimpse into your soul, and I know more about you than you could possibly know about me without years of knowing me." He started walking backwards, saluting him with two fingers as he did so. "Study up, and watch yourself more closely next time."

The Drow seemed very unphased by Damon's little announcement and appeared just as disinterested as always. So what? Why should Dimor care what the child knew about him? If he were any other kind of person, Dimor would've simply told Damon what he wanted; but, because he was in fact Dimor, he didn't find it necessary to go out of his way for others. "That prize won't be worth as much as you may believe." While Damon back-paced, Dimor held his ground ad simply watched the ninja with that chilling gaze of his.

((When he leaned against him on the side of the lighthouse. 'Is he actually touching me?' >3))
Damon laughed at Dimor's stare, grinning widely. "Not to a normal person. But every bit of knowledge is more dangerous than the sharpest blade. Not that you'll think much of this statement now, but rest assured, I will teach you to fear me. You may ignore it for now, but soon you will be forced to defend yourself. And as it stands right now, you're in a poor position to do so." He faded away into smoke, blowing away with a sudden gust of wind.

((OMG! *bangs head against keyboard*))

Dimor watched blankly as Damon blew away, deciding not to bother himself with convincing Damon how useless his information was. 'I fear no child' The Drow stared up at the Lighthouse and then looked to the horizon. No point in destroying it now when there would be more potential witnesses. 'There's always more time' Opening his hand and looking at the ring on his palm, Dimor wondered if that, too, would blow away with the wind, before he began walking back toward the Academy.

((Oh yeah, I forgot about that.))
As Damon faded away, the ring vanished in a puff of smoke, having only been the ring of a shadow clone.

Dimor felt the small poof through his glove and looked down at his hand, not entirely surprise. 'I expected nothing less' Waving his hand to destroy what was left of the smoke, Dimor continued on his way. Now tired of the time it took to walk, the Drow melted into a pool of shadow, arriving at the Academy not moments later.
