Durriken yawned as he ‘woke up’ from a restful night sleep. When he opened his eyes he almost immediately raised one of his eyebrows in confusion. This wasn’t his room, or anywhere on school campus that he could remember. It actually felt like the Astral Plain. When he looked down and saw his normal gypsy cloths that he came to the school with he knew that, that was where he was.
The Astral plane gives you how you look to yourself in your own head, so it could be completely different or exactly the same. So getting up from the soft grass he dusted off his deep red pants and vest and began to walk through the grass in his bare feet, seeing what there was in this area of the Astral Plane.
“Hmm, I wonder...” he said as he focused on his cards, and grinned when he found that they appeared on his rope belt. Another good thing about his cards having a mind, they can have astral forms as well.

Sabine was thinking... relaxing. Thinking about life... this school... everything. Thinking about her brother, and what was happening to him. Thinking about her ex-fiance`. Thinking....
Suddenly, Sabine heard another person. She jumped and stood up. She saw a man, dressed in dark red, with a deck of tarot cards. She straitened out her brown robes, and pushed her hair back. She walked up to him and tapped him on the shoulder.
Sabine looked at him and said, "Hello, I am Sabine." She looked at his tarot cards and said, "What'cha gonna do with those?"

Durriken spun around fairly quick, raising about an inch off the surface as he did so.
“Oh sorry, well, nothing for now, I just always keep them with me.”
When he finally noticed that he was floating he concentrated on it and he went back down, his feet touching the ground.
“I’m Durriken by the way, nice to meet you Sabine. Just a shot in the dark, but are you a Seer? Not many people can get to the Astral Plane, even if there is one so close...” he said, being on the people who first came here.

Sabine took her eyes off of his tarot cards and to his face, "Yes, I am a seer. Also a gypsy. I'm fairly new though, I got here about a week ago. New to this whole seer thing too. I found out about a year ago. Been a gypsy forever though." Sabine looked at her torn robes. They told many stories. They were covered in dirt and spoltched with blood from the birth of her siblings. After tracing her finger off of a stain, she looked back at Durriken.

“Interesting, I used to be of the clan of Petulengro’s or Fortune Tellers. And I’m not sure how long I’ve been a Seer, I could read the card for most of my life, but only with ‘this’ deck are the predictions accurate and reliable, and then later they actually revealed themselves to me with greater powers, so depending on how you count it, I was a Seer for 12, 6, or 3 years.”
Durriken looked at her dress when she started to run her fingers around the stains. They were interesting since in this plane could be dressed in the finest cloths if she wanted, but that dress seemed to really be important to her.

"I've been with the traveling clans. My father was a dry good merchant. MY mother kept us occupied. We travled all over Europe. I lost connection with other gypsies when I went to school and got engaged to a commoner..." Sabine trailed off at the mention of him, "I notice you are looking at my robes."
Sabine looked back down at her ratty clothes, "I've had them forever. Born babies in this." She looked at his deep colored beautiful vest and pants, "Not impressive, I know, but what I have done is impressive, and that's what matters."

“You don’t have to prove anything to me or any other here. In this place we are all equals in spirit.”
A single card rose from his belt and showed it self to him, before going back down after a murmur of agreement of Durriken.
“The cards seems to think that you got much alike with Strength, strength of body is not important as long as their is a strength of will. Which, oddly enough, is very important in Seers, since in places like this” he said waving his arms around above his head. “That is all there is.”

"See, I'm hesitant on being a seer. I mean, this is totally new. I mean one day, I'm an English major in a normal people school, and the next day, I am here." Sabine looked around and then down at her feet, "So... fast. I didn't get time to adjust." Sabine took her eyes off of the ground and to his cards, "So those are like bewitched cards?"

“I don’t really know.” he said as he pulled out the deck and thumbed through it. “It was given to my mother by my father, a sorcerer, and she gave them to me. So I guess they are enchanted in some way, though I am not sure if it was by him or by some other. It is interesting, they got a mind of their own at times, and they tell the future without fail...well mostly, since there is human will and all. And even stranger, they each got a special power, unique to the card.”
Noticing that he was ranting, he gave a small cough and apologized.
“Sorry, I get a bit carried away sometimes. And I’ll bet your adjust soon enough. Everyone does.”

Sabine looked closely at the cards, "So are the like, twilight zone cards though? Do they like take you to another dimension?" She looked around and laughed, she was in another dimension. "Haha, oxymoron much?"
Sabine suddenly had a question pop into her mind, "So, how long have you been here? In this magical school. It's like the Twilight Zone."

Durriken raised an eyebrow, not getting the television reference, not even hearing of one.
“Um...I am not sure what ‘Twilight Zone cards’ are, but one of my cards can take you to a different worlds, but that is about it. But I have been here not long before you got here, and the school for a few months.” he said. (-cough- 2 class periods in real RP time)
It was interesting for Durriken to meet a more modern version of the Gypsy. His tribe always stuck strongly to the old ways, pretty much living in the time warp, that is why he though he still had the magic in his blood, but from the looks of her, that was long. She was from a modern tribe, even going to school and college, and yet she held the power...though it looked like it took her much longer to discover it.
“Does anyone else from your tribe discover the old gypsy magic? Or are you the only one?”

Sabine laughed, "Twilight Zone is an old show. It was about hauntings and phenomenons like that." How could a person in this modern world not know that what the Twilight Zone was?
Sabine never thought of her friends as a clan per say, as much as a family. "My clan just did simple stuff. Ocassional tarot, runes, potions. But no one had powers. If anyone it would have been my mother. But she died a long time ago, so I have no way to find out."

“That’s understandable. I just find it odd that we could be the only gypsies to rediscover our powers. Long ago all humans had power, but that was lost and only a few groups such as the Gypsy held on to it. But even now, that power is being lost more and more as the children forget the new ways.” he said, quoting the ‘father’ of his clan before he and his mother were kicked out.

"The only magic my clan knew was how to sell items. I could take out a torn piece of paper and convince you that it was from the King of Prussia, and that it was worth millions. That's the only magic, the gypsies I come from know." Sabine laughed and remembered how they would con people into spending money on useless, worthless items. If there was one thing they were good at, that was it.

He laughed a little when he heard this.
“My family could do that too. Put up some flashy sparkly cloths, deep colors, and a stupid crystal ball and you can rope anyone in really. Just say what they want you to say and they will pay you whatever you want. They don’t even really care if you can see into the future or not.”
He held out his hand in front of him and focused on it, scrunching his eyes together he got a small vial of green liquid to appear.
“Speaking of sell, do you know any girls who would want to buy this special vial of hair dye. The person I got it from said that it can dye your hair any color permanently and you can change what color it is whenever you want. She also said something with hairstyles but I never really saw if that part worked or not.”
