"I wanted to know what you classified yourself as, not what other people have named you," he replied. Angelo could see small signs of distress, though he could not pinpoint the exact emotion or source. It had been a long time since he had put a name to these things. Like his emotions had suffered a stroke in the recent past, he could now feel again but the recognition and motor skills of simply emotion were still somewhat retarded. So then perhaps that was it?
He pointed to the rock she was sitting upon. "Quartz Latite," he said. The dull rock did not respond. "Some basalt. People strive to classify even the most ordinary things. They want a name and designation to everything, because it is their way of forcing order, forcing control. There is nothing more frightening than something chaotic, something nameless..." he trailed off and nodded, as if confirming something to himself. "Do you think of yourself as an Elemental Part-Beast?"

"You're alive," he said simply, and a soft smile touched his face. It was sad how easy it was to forget. In their struggle for order, humankind had built walls around themselves and invented loneliness. They had forgotten the one thing that they shared with the world. A shame, life was an awing force. The world's only miracle was life itself. It was so, so much easier to destroy than to create, and yet somehow it still continued.

Azu looked up slowly and met Angelo's eyes. She bit her lip, embarrassed at the wall of emotion beginning to build up in her throat. She found it hard to swallow. She flared her nostrils in the attempt and finally looked away. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she strived to control herself. After a minute or two she managed to regain composure. Who the hell is this guy? she thought solemnly. I haven't cried since I was but a mere child and he has me welling up like a frickin fountain She wiped her face and locked her gaze with his again. "Sorry," she spoke quietly, "I didn't mean to do that. I think I need to get away from here. Any suggestions?" Her hands shook and though she was standing, she still wavered a little bit.

(oops, some got cut off there. XD Apologies)
Angelo saw her crying, and for the first time in years he felt indecisive. Should he go to her and attempt consolation? She seemed independent, and perhaps would not appreciate that. The question was whether she really wanted to be that way, or if it was an unconscious product of a hard life. No, he did not want to invade her privacy, even if it was just with a hug. Men did not touch women without permission. This was the way of the people of Luent.
He seemed troubled at her suggestion of leaving, but after a moment's thought said, "The sunrise is particularly beautiful at the Acetanium Lighthouse. You wouldn't expect it, but the grass is also very green." Angelo smiled slightly, since green grass was probably an obvious thing. He just hoped she would be happy again.

((Eets fine... ^^ It happens to me a lot too. Hey, do you want to start a new post? It might be a little easier.)) Azu wrinkled her nose a little. She had never been to this place before. It seemed okay enough, though. The abrupt change of scenery might be enough to calm her. Azu tried to smile a little but only came up with a small wince. "Uh... thank you,"she said, "I appreciate it." No one had ever really seemed so sincere when talking to her. It comforted her. She had always been on her own and never really knew much else. Deciding her time here was up, she bade her last farewells to the inferno below and jumped off of her jagged rock. Landing on the bridge, she waited for Angelo to show her the way.

"You are welcome. Let me take you there," he said, offering his hand to her. The black material of his glove was tattered as if burned, but what was left clinging to his frail hand seemed sturdy enough. A blue-white light infused him, the same hue as his eyes, and shone around him like an aura. Angelo, it seemed, had other talents beside walking on air. There was something cold about the light that opposed the fiery landscape and its energy. ('twould teleport her here... ^^ xxbahaumauntxx.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=acetaniumlighthouse&thread=4000 )
