The room was empty and quiet, a calm stillness vibrating gently off the walls. Well, at least, it was peaceful until a dark pool of swirling shadows formed in the center of the floor. A figure emerged from the vortex, shadow tendrils clinging to his body. He stepped toward the door, the pool of shadows forming into his own silhouette. He placed one gloved hand against the plain looking door, white eyes staring at it intently. The man found it was time to pay his 'home' a little... visit. Things would either turn out very badly for the other residents and very good for him, or vis versa. Without a word, the white skinned man pushed against the door, which proceeded to creak open slowly. It was intriguing, to see the blurring shapes and outlines of his homeland on the other side of a door in a tower that didn't appear to really go anywhere. He paused momentarily, wondering if this would even be worth his time. The information he had received form his... sources, was enough to make him consider going home, but was it really enough to make him go? Apparently. Not bothering to close the door behind him, Dimor stepped through the portal.
On the other side, he had come out in a forest, just briefly glancing behind him to take note that no door was visible; there was only forest all around. Oh well, he'd deal with that later; apparently the entrance only went one way. The trees' bark was very dark in color, almost as though they had been burnt, and the leaves weren't the cheeriest either. They ranged from black to white, along with all the grays in between. This was slightly annoying. Dimor was on the wrong side of the island. Yes, this actually was on giant island, with many smaller ones dotted the sea around it. There was only one safe beach, all elsewhere being dangerous cliffs that dropped off into the rock infested waters. There creatures waiting for some poor soul to tumble down, most likely as punishment for something. The sky was hazy and gray, the air heavy with moisture. Oh, wasn't this going to be fun? Please note the sarcasm.

Matt was taking what you might call a relaxing stroll through the school to loosen up the old leg muscles. He had already dropped off his bag in an undisclosed area while he procrastinated getting a dorm room, now only carrying the 'essentials' for survival: his knife, his rifle on a strap on his shoulder, Roc, and Metallica. Matt stopped as he saw some person emerge from the shadows; it wasn't everyday he saw such 'oddities'. He made no noise as he watched Dimor pass through the door to some unknown end. What specialty training he did receive from Basic told him to shut up, keep quiet, and just watch the unknown--and possibly hostile--thing.
As Dimor stepped through the portal, Matt quietly strolled to the door, noting the person's carelessness as to close doors. Geez, quite the rude one, huh? He pulled off his gas mask to get a smell of the stranger; a strange smell he as the smeller had never smelled from the smelled before. His nose twitched a bit as it registered in his mind, and simply held the gas mask in his left hand. Matt stepped through the door, taking a breath as he did so, unaware of the consequences of his action. As he saw the strange landscape, Matt immediately ducked behind a tree, squished up as to not reveal any of his body. This person sure had a strange agenda, which made Matt even more than eager to follow him.

Suzume somehow managed to end up right next to Matt, hiding behind the tree, the eight year old just looked up at him and whispered, "Why are we hiding?" she was curious and she wanted to know why everyone here was acting so strangely, she slowly peeked out towards Dimor and she looked back at Matt, her foxish tail swished back and forth as she waited for something epic to happen. She didn't think this person was part of 'Them' but she was positive he wasn't one of 'The Others' either, but when it came to spotting 'Them' she had to find Brandon and ask, because he was the only one who could ever be sure. She'd just have to be careful untill then, and who knew, maybe they'd end up finding Cecee. She figured it was a possibility.

Dimor tilted his head just enough to glare at the tree from the corner of his eye. Not just any tree; the tree currently concealing two not-so-welcome visitors. What sounded like an irritated grumble seeped through the air around the Drow. He actually only knew of Suzume's presence, because she was far less careful than Matt was when it came to remaining unnoticed. Wonderful. He thought about leaving the girl where she was and letting her die of her own mistakes; this land and its inhabitants were not fit for any other than a Drow. But, if he did that, her blood would taint this territory; mar the land. She could also attract unwanted attention, which would just make things more difficult for him. Running one gloved hand back through his wispy black hair, Dimor's shadow crept toward the tree, tendrils and demonic claws reaching out to prey upon the others' shadows; this of course had no physical affect on anything. "You should not have come here." He spoke without turning, but was obviously addressing the tree's new friends. "The darkness will swallow you without hesitation or regret."

Suzume darted out from behind the tree, her eyes wide, "I don't like the dark..." she said, holding a hand out for Dimor to shake, "My name is Suzume and the person hiding is Funnyguy." She nodded, "I guess you won the game? What number do I count to?" she asked, she was just your average, happy child with a small bird on her shoulder, was all. Mango seemed to mysteriously slip past anyone's attention but was now noticeable as Suzume smiled towards the person with no mouth. Suzume already had noticed it, but she didn't say anything, she didn't want to be rude, because he might be sensitive to that. She knew if she had no mouth, she wouldn't want people to remind her about it all the time... she then began wondering how he ate...

Matt didn't move, but froze more than before. Going through his head was just what he would do. He quietly motioned to Suzume to be quiet about him, as he was hiding for a reason. Matt realized that hiding there would be foolish, so he crouched down and began to walk towards another tree, only with the muted crunch of his boots against the ground signaling his presence. Matt found another tree to hide behind, and quickly readied his rifle, just to be ready if the 'thing' came for him.
And Bob's your Uncle... Matt thought sarcastically to himself in his head.

Dimor turned halfway around to face Suzume, glare narrowing onto her small form. Great, even better; a child had followed him. Well... he supposed that he could dispose of her quite easily without any trace... but she had mentioned someone else, who may require more effort than he was willing to waste. He glanced around briefly, hunting down Matt with his eyes; he could do as he pleased, his options were the same as Suzume's. The Drow glared hard at Suzume, the air around him naturally emanating a sense of foreboding. "There's no escaping the darkness here; if you fear it, you will die sooner." Momentarily, Dimor looked in a beeline in the other direction; the direction he was going to have to go to get where he wanted to be. Without turning back to Suzume, he spoke commandingly. "Get lost, and the forest's inhabitants will hunt you down. Stay where you are, and the darkness will come to find you." He turned his head just enough to glare at Suzume from the corner of his eye. "Get in my way, and I'll kill you." His voice was icy and harsh, but laden with a deadly truth. Suzume would have to decide which option sounded most appealing. Go off on her own, run from evil beasties that would eventually catch her. Stay where she was, be swallowed by darkness. Follow Dimor, one who knew the land and its inhabitants but would surely kill her if she so much as made a noise he didn't like... Very difficult decision, if you ask me. I mean... I wouldn't want to be alone in the forest with Dimor, period. But that's just me, and I am but the simple role-player whom one should never, ever listen to.

Suzume nodded, "Then I just have to stay out of your way." she said confidently, following him with a happy childish smile and a carefree almost aura around her that nearly compelled the RPer to make several facepalm movements. She reached for Dimor's hand in that little kiddish kind of manner, because it was along the lines of 'Don't cross the street without holding someone's hand' only now it was, 'Don't trek into unknown, dangerous lands without holding that creepy shadow-person-half-Drow-person-guy-it-thing's hand' Suzume didn't want to get lost, of course, because she didn't doubt there were scary things here... it seemed like the kind of place that you could find things like driders... Suzume heard about driders once, they sounded kinda silly, but who knew, she was kinda half hoping to find some, and maybe Darius would show up! THat'd be cool!
There was a shimmer of anticipation in her eyes, as if this was the start of a new adventure and there was no possible way it could go wrong. Suzume's tail swishing pleasantly behind her, "Come on, funnyguy! You don't want to get left behind! We know you moved, too! You lost!" she said, still deadset that this was some kind of hide-and-seek game, and she was happy she had found the funnyguy, and now they would be off to start a new game.

"Yeah, just a jolly good game of hide-and-go-seek," Matt said to himself sarcastically, his voice had a British accent that seemed to be in the intermediate between American English and English English, although leaning more towards the British side. Matt put his gas mask back on, not really seeing the need to keep it off to smell while his cover was blown. Let's see...his options were to stay where he was, lose the target and some new little kid that seemed intent on blowing his cover everywhere he went, follow them, find out where they were going and possibly get some sort of reward (whether given or otherwise) or wait for some evil beasties. The second one sounded the best to the werewolf.
This guy sounded like a barrel monkeys--threatening to kill little children and whatnot. Matt came from behind the tree, grasping the rifle that was slung on his shoulder firmly in his grasp, as to him, it was the treasure to the treasure hunter, and treasure hunters never give up their most desired treasures, not even for their own lives. Well, the good ones anyway. Matt was ready to fire off a couple of quick shots at the guy if he tried to do anything, because just as they say: "If it's worth shooting, it's worth shooting twice."
He sighed as he made his way up to Dimor and Suzume, attempting to 'tip' his boonie hat towards his...'host'.

Dimor's glare turned full force down onto Suzume and he yanked his hand away sharply, positioning it into what could be a rather painful backhand across the girl's face. "Keep your vile self off of me, child." After a moment, the Drow's gaze flickered toward Matt. He completely disregarded the hunter's greeting gesture and simply turned abruptly to stalk off toward wherever it was he had to be, his strides even and smooth. He really was quite aggravated at how all this had turned out. Amongst the trees on either side of the invisible, unmarked path, shadows stirred and bodies flickered in and out of visibility. Many were shaped as unidentifiable creatures, and few others resembled human figures. Flashing eyes darted around solid existence, and demonic gurgles and moans could be heard amongst the general eerie quiet of the forest. Dimor seemed completely unmindful of these things, though every once and again he would glance to other side and focus on something before it disappeared. "A boy with a gun will only make things worse." he stated, either to himself or meant for Matt; who knew? "And a child will only attract hungrier creatures." What a long day this was going to be.
Deep in the forest, two dark figures stood side-by-side, sadistic grins breaking out on their expressions simultaneously. Two pairs of gleaming red eyes narrowed onto the three 'travelers' in the distance. Heavy accents lined their sinister voices, and they spoke as one being. "Vel'bol jivvin.... Dehmoor Ofere."[/b]

Suzume looked towards Dimor's hand, no sense of fear about her whatsoever, she'd been dealt worse things back home in Virisea, 'Okay... so don't touch him...' she thought to herself, feeling the need to poke him now, but she didn't because she didn't want to make him unhappy. She instead decided to start up conversation, and guessing this was his homeplace, considering he seemed to fit in well, and her hearing so aptly picking up the few familiar words up ahead (The joys of enhanced Kitsune hearing...) she figured he'd know that Darius-language as well. Might as well give it a try... "Ussta ess zhah Suzume. Velfbol zhah dossta ess?" To be honest, she wasn't sure if he'd know it, because most people who knew the Darius-language were darker skinned with really light hair... it was worth a try, though. Her vulpine ears were not focused on Dimor, though, they were focused straight towards the strangers up the road, wondering who they were, and perhaps if they were friends, maybe they were playing the game too! Geez! This must be a really big game, huh? Obviously the strangers were having fun while playing the game, too. Which was good.
(If we're all using the same version of Drow here and I don't totally suck... she just said "My name is Suzume. What's your name?")

"Yes, and you will attract the pretty blue butterflies of Wonderland," Matt said, rolling his eyes at the Drow. Upon hearing various moans and grumbles, Matt looked side to side of himself half-expecting some beast to try and strike any minute. This forest seemed to be full of...things. Big things, small things, gray things, and black things. God, he sounded like Dr. Seuss!
Bad thing about the gas mask was that he couldn't smell through it, because yes, smells were important to the werewolf, but so was concealing one's identity and protection. He followed Dimor (much to his dismay) into the inauspicious territory. As much has he was already starting to dislike the guy, he seemed to know his way around the area, and sometimes you just have to suck it up and deal with the people in life.
Matt was alienated at the strange new language. He had never played those World of Warcraft games and was hardly even aware of elves, except for the ones that made the cookies of course. "Going a bit sixes and sevens?" Matt asked, in his own language: English English.

((Dr. Seuss= pwnt!))
Dimor's pace faltered slightly when he realized what Suzume had just said; it took a moment for him to register his native tongue as something out of the ordinary. He glanced down at her for only a moment before returning his chilling white eyes to the forest ahead. It was almost as though he wasn't going to respond, but, finally, he did. "Dimor Ofeir." He threw a warning glare over his shoulder at Matt, sort of like saying 'shut the hell up before I gouge out your eyes with your own rib'. The Drow's eyes returned ahead once again, where he would have been near enough to just barely make out the figures up ahead had they not seemingly flickered from existence. Dimor's shadow writhed and swirled angrily on the ground behind him, thin tendrils reaching out to ensnare Suzume's and Matt's shadows. Other thin wisps also seems to reach out into the forest at random directions. But, though most may not know, these wisps were actually being drawn toward the more powerful of the fleeting creatures.
The figures, from wherever they were concealed, watched the group with malicious gazes, their dark bodies somehow unseen amongst the trees. "S'lurppuk dossta draeval..."
((Last thing said= Take your time))

"Nindel zhah yugho... 'udtila dosst kaas hass'l jalbol?" she asked, looking ahead towards where the strangers were, she had already picked up on the different things that hid just out of sight and the fact that funnyguy didn't understand the same language hadn't occurred to her, she didn't know anyone who knew the Darius-Language, other than Darius, but she never got to talk to him, so she was having lots of fun right now. It was odd how she could manage to have fun in such a place as this, but she managed. Everything was an exciting and wonderfully fun adventure when you're eight years old and have the spirit of a dragon and a malicious water-spirit-demon-lady in your head!
("Nindel zhah yugho... 'udtila dosst kaas hass'l jalbol?" = That's nice... does your name mean anything?)

I'm shaking in my boots, Matt thought to himself, scoffing at the man's pompous attitude. Seeing as the strange thing wasn't going to start up a conversation in anything but gibberish with the little girl, Matt took the time to take in the landscape...however exotically macabre it might be. Matt's ears perked up as he heard some voices; although; they seemed to be muttering in the same incoherent language that the girl and the thing were using. Wow, a whole land where people talked by putting random letters together, great!
That doesn't seem too good, Matt thought, picking up some tone of an expecting evil or something or other. Matt's muscles started to tense up a bit, anticipating something bad. Usually when people were hiding there was a good reason for it, especially if they seemed intent on stalking you.
