Dain sauntered in absently as he looked at the books in disgust. They were basic books, not even advanced enough for his OWN library. Anatomies of common animals, doctoral techniques...it sickened him deeply, though he would not show it. He lifted his head to the man and addressed him.
"Sir, would you mind if we interrogated your wolf? It seems she has stolen a precious possession of someone at the Academy, unless, she works for you? I simply guess at that mage being able to convert herself into an animal, most that practice the dark arts can." Dain queried as he leaned against the bookshelf. He didn't care for the books in the first place, why show respect for them?

(( There aren't any books on anatomy here Where'd you get that from? )) The man looked up at Dain, but did not respond. He closed his eyes once more, and began humming to himself in a monotonous key. The wolf settled down, curling her tail around her body, then placed her chin on her paws.

If Durriken used the right card he could show if the wolf was really a wolf or a person in disguise. But for some odd reason he chose not to. It was like he felt no need to, like this would be revealed all on his own. He didn’t know why he felt like this, he just did. He felt like if he did anything negative to the man or his wolf it would just become very, very, bad for him and Dain.
“Sir, could we see your wolf for a moment, I promise no harm will come to her.” he said, meaning the part about not harming the wolf.

The man raised an eye, but spoke, "Why do you want to see her? She has done nothing to you." The wolf raised her head, blinked in a slightly mocking way, then began wagging her tail. She stretched out her back paws, then put her face down on the ground once more, falling asleep. The man took a pile of papers and began sorting them. A small ball of fire floated above him for stronger light.

((Okay, I got permission from Baha to write Dain out of this))
Suddenly, a high pitched whine came from outside the room. When the sound reached his ears Dain’s head whipped around and looked out the door. Without a word he ran out of the door and out of the forest.
Durriken gave the leaving Dain a strange look but turned his attention back to the old man and the wolf.
“She hasn’t done anything to me, but I believe that she might have taken some objects from another student at Twilight Moon Academy. You see, we followed a person who looked much like the alleged thief, and we followed her back to this building.”

The man folded his arms, "Well, that's not very convincing, is it? You'll have to try harder." He then stood, then walked to a tall pile of books. He reached for a blue book, then hesitated. "No... not that..." then walked to the red books. "No!!!" He snarled viciously, his teeth flashing as wolf teeth, then he snatched a gray book and seated himself, writing furiously in it.

“Hmm...” said Durriken as he thought “Excuse me sir once more, would you be willing for me to try one thing, it would prove if your wolf has taken the students items or not. It will not harm the wolf, and if it proves that she didn’t take it, I will leave your humble home.”
Durriken was thinking he could combine a card that would let him talk to animals, with one that tells if a person is lying. That way a wolf would be able to talk and then, they would know if she was lying.

The man looked up, and his hair flashed a brilliant orange, "FINE!!! But be quiet!!!! I'm trying to work! Kia, go downstairs with this boy." The wolf stood, lazily stretched, and trotted to the bottom floor of the room. She settled down at the base of the staircase and wrapped her tail around herself.

Durriken jumped backward when the man yelled, cringing as he did. He didn’t want to get the man mad since he wanted to stay on the mans good side. Getting him mad wouldn’t do that. Walking over to the other side of the room with his head down Durriken followed the wolf down to the bottom floor.

Once Durriken was level with her, Kia stood. She swiftly shifted into human form, where the student could speak with her better. Her dark eyes sparkled in the pale candelight, and her white robes faintly outlined her thin body. She shook her head, her thick black hair falling behind her shoulders, a hand smoothing it back. She folded her slender arms and watched Durriken with a curious, careful stare.

Durriken mentally jumped when he saw her shift, but he was able to keep his face the same. When he saw that she was no human, he knew that he could just use the normal truth card, but he would try it the old fashion way first, his gypsy nature would make it hard for her to get a lie past him. He was brought up surrounded by the ways of lying and conning people out of money. It is hard to lie to a liar. So, he would just treat this like another gypsy, always on his toes, listening and watching for any signs of a lie.
“Kia, it is very nice to finally talk to you in person.” he said, choosing his words carefully.

Kia stood, leaning against the banister of the steps, her stare now cold and blank. She silently tapped a long finger against her elbow, without saying a word.

Durriken rolled his eyes as he leaned back against the other side of the stairs, across from the wolf woman.
“Please, I can stay here as long as you can, so might as well speak up, either you can prove that you had nothing to do with this or give back the items to girl had taken.”

The woman stood, as silent as a stone and just as unmoving. She gazed upon Durriken with now-bored eyes, though they still had a glare of coldness within them. Without the slightest bit of wind, her hair began slowly swaying back and forth, braiding themselves into a solid plait of hair lining down her back. Her eyes began to wander the room in boredom.

Durriken sighed at this. The wolf girl was being very stubborn. Not wanting to waist a lot of time trying to get her to speak, he just raised one of his cards and created an illusion of what he saw before. He forwarded it to when he thought he saw the thief running away from himself and Dain.
“This is you, is it not?” he asked the she-wolf.
(I can fill the actually card if you want when I get back home to my list, I can’t remember which card exactly does illusions)
